I bought this book for my son who's in college. I did not read this book so I'm not rating on the book content here.
I was going to buy a used copy for a lower price but my son's teacher requires the package includes the book, the CD, the website access and the STUDENT STUDY GUIDE.The package does not match their description - missing the STUDENT STUDY GUIDE. .
Amazon customer service is a five-star rating. After I reported missing content, they sent me another package right away. But the 2nd package does not have the STUDENT STUDY GUIDE either. So I give three-star rating overall.

The wording of problems in this book can be confusing. I think more complex examples need to be shown in the book chapters.
This book was required for my economics class and from the start I've been frustrated with it. I've given it three stars because personally I feel that the questions at the end of the chapters are worded in such a way that it sounds confusing. Not all questions are bad but I felt Chapter 1 was the worst. The book is not all that bad. The examples are useful if you get stuck on some of the problems. Do go through the book and answer the questions. If you are planning on taking the FE this book will help to prepare you. Go through chapters 3 - 7 and that will cover 90 percent of the questions that will be on the exam. The back of the book does contain FE practice problems but I didn't go through them.
The review is somewhat wordy and jumping all over the place but I hope it helps some.
This is an outstanding clearly written introduction to engineering economic analysis. The text contains many clear examples illustrating how to use the techniques and principles of economic analysis. The one area the book is a little weak is dealing with economics in the public sector (i.e. municipal projects for cities or counties). Overall this is an excellent book for learning the principles and applying them to realistic situations. I use this book as a reference in the professional practice of engineering.
I bought the book when i had tough engineering economics analysis problems. I submitted my work late but i was proud of my work. Nobody could help me even with private lessons but the book helped me a lot up to the exam.
